About

Kayla J. Fryer is a Visual Artist and Arts Administrator living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Fryer graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art. She is currently getting her Masters of Fine Art Degree at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. For about a decade, Fryer has worked in community arts mentoring youth, developing art programs, curating and teaching. As a visual artist, Fryer has worked primarily in painting, drawing and printmaking but is actively exploring textiles, film and sound. She has been in multiple group exhibitions such as Momentum at the Herman Maril Gallery, These Walls Have Eyes as part of the Hot Sauce Artists Collective, On the Verge: 25 New and Emerging Artists at Creative Alliance, We Choose! at the Frederick Douglass Issac Myers Museum among others. As well as her latest solo exhibit, In Full View: A Portrait Experience at Glen Echo Park Gallery.
